Public Communications

Program Description

Reaching the General Public

Transforming damaging social norms that contribute to the existence and perpetuation of violence against women is at the heart of FVPF’s public communications and education campaigns. For over fifteen years, the FVPF has partnered with countless advertising and communications experts, media firms, foundations, and local service agencies to craft innovative, comprehensive, and far-reaching campaigns that raise public awareness and build the movement of those committed to ending violence against women and children. With national initiatives such as There’s No Excuse for Domestic Violence in the ‘90s, It’s Your Business in 2002 that reached out to African Americans specifically, and the current Coaching Boys into Men work that inspires men to teach boys that violence never equals strength, the FVPF has generated more than $200 million in donated media time and space in over 25,000 outlets across the United States.
