ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Family Violence Prevention Fund invites domestic violence and sexual assault advocates to participate in a conference call on HIPAA Privacy Information on September 9, 2004. The call will be held from 10:00 am-11:30 am PST/1:00 pm-2:30 pm EST. The call has been sponsored by the Family Violence Prevention Fund, the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
The purpose of this conference call is to assist domestic violence and sexual assault providers better understand the provisions under HIPAA and their application to advocacy programs that have relationships with health care facilities. The conference call faculty includes Rodney Hudson, JD; Diane Moyer, JD; PCAR's (PA Coalition Against Rape) legal counsel; Nancy Durborow from the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence; and
Debbie Lee from the Family Violence Prevention Fund.
To join the conference call, dial 334-260-2280 and use this passcode: HIPAA Privacy. Charges for your long distance call are absorbed by your organization through your long distance carrier.
We request advocates interested in joining this conference call to contact Fran Navarro at the Family Violence Prevention Fund (Phone: 415-252-8900, x52 or Email: fran@endabuse.org) to receive important reading materials to review prior to the call.
