The Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) invites you to share your facility’s model domestic violence protocols with the field. The FVPF’s National Health Resource Center on Domestic Violence is currently modifying its free information packet entitled Domestic Violence Health Care Protocols into an online format, featuring model DV protocols from various health care settings across the United States. The FVPF invites health care settings to submit an electronic copy of their domestic violence protocol for inclusion in the new and revised information packet. The Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) invites you to submit quantitative and qualitative research articles on family violence for publication in its new e-journal entitled Family Violence Prevention and Health Practice. The FVPF will release the first issue of the e-journal in Fall 2004. Get information on subscription and contribution to the e-journal.
Health Cares About Domestic Violence Day (HCADV Day) is a nationally recognized awareness-raising day that takes place annually on the second Wednesday of October. Sponsored by the Family Violence Prevention Fund, HCADV Day aims to reach members of the healthcare community and educate them about the critical importance of assessing for domestic violence, as well as the long term health implications of domestic violence and lifetime exposure to violence. EVENTS
The 2004 Minority Women’s Health Summit entitled Women of Color, Taking Action for a Healthier Life: Progress, Partnerships & Possibilities will be held on August 12-15, 2004 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC. The conference has been organized by the Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health, Minority Women's Health Panel of Experts, Health Resources and Services Administration and National Hispanic Medical Association.
The 2004 conference will build on the outcomes of the 1997 National Conference Bridging the Gap: Enhancing Partnerships to Improve Minority Women's Health. Key areas in women's health including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS will be highlighted.
