John Badalament, Ed.M
John Badalament, Ed.M., is a writer, filmmaker, international speaker, leader in the fatherhood Field, and long time partner of the Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF). John Badalament directed Something My Father Would Do: Overcoming Legacies of Family Violence for the FVPF. This groundbreaking fifteen-minute documentary shows the stories of three men who grew up with abusive fathers and had to grapple with their own choices as intimate partners and fathers. He is the author of the recently released Modern Dads Handbook (Cole Valley Mill, 2007) an activity-based guide to help dads/dad-figures connect with their children and model healthy adult relationships at home. His forthcoming book, Modern Dads: Four Practices to Stay Connected with Your Kids In a Rapidly Changing World (New World Library) will be released for Father's Day, 2010. All Men Are Sons: Exploring the Legacy of Fatherhood, his acclaimed documentary film, aired on PBS stations across America. His most recent film project is entitled, Gender Traps: How Marriage Problems Start In Kindergarten.
